may is bike to work month!

may is the official bike to work month, so if any of you out there have a bicycle, put some air in those tires and bike to work!

in correlation with bike to work month, the city of pasadena has a bike week planned running may 12th through the 17th.

highlights include several guided bike tours, a bike commuter expo, and an official bike pit stop at the recently opened whole foods on arroyo parkway.

spin.

in correlation with fixed gear riding's burgeoning popularity comes an influx of track bike videos.

over the summer, there will be at least three highly anticipated videos coming up, all of which have uber-nice trailers for the kiddies. here's a quick rundown of the trailers with links to every project's respective myspace.

MACAFRAMA Trailer from MACAFRAMA on Vimeo.
"macaframa" from san francisco.

Fast Friday from David Rowe on Vimeo.
cadence fast fridays from seattle.

council of doom: official full-length trailer from wolfgang on Vimeo.
council of doom from orange county, ca.

all high quality footage of high quality riding. all of this regionalism makes me wonder what new york has up their sleeves.

p.s. there will be a premiere for the council of doom video on july 20th at the detroit bar in costa mesa. live bands, booze, and bikes. how could you say no to that?

interesting.

i'll try not to make every post from now on bike related, but i think this is pretty cool.

leah buechley made this turn-signal jacket with LEDs. the controls for the signals are wrist-mounted. and it's washable!

i wouldn't get much use of it, the way i ride, but it's cool nonetheless.
